MacTechGroup

The MacTechGroup holds meetings for Macintosh programmers on the first Wednesday of each month at MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA.

Next Meeting:
Dec 1 2010 7:00 PM Building E51 Room 315 MIT Sloan School (Note: we are in room 315 at least until Jan.)

Core Data

Owen Hartnett

I've been working with CoreData quite a bit over the last couple of months, and this presentation is about what CoreData is, why you might want to use it, and how to do a basic implementation. We start from how CoreData differs from a basic database, and what it buys you as opposed to using the basic SQLite database.

We'll cover the basic implementation code, how to use the designer to define the CoreData entities, requests and predicates. I'll even tell you what a predicate is in CoreData.

The MacTechGrp always meets the first Wednesday of the month. (Sometimes I screw up the date of the notice, but it's always the first Wednesday)

You can get more information on the MacTechGrp and directions at http://www.mactechgroup.org. Sometimes even the meeting announcements are up to date.
