Dec 5 - 7PM Message-ID: <76BCD0E0-0BEF-4FD1-8210-609E609BAF5F@clipboardinc.com> MacTechGroup The MacTechGroup holds meetings for Macintosh programmers on the first Wednesday of each month at MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. Next Meeting: Dec 5 2012 7:00 PM Building E51 Room 335 MIT Sloan School NOTE THAT OUR OFFICIAL ROOM IS 335 - but check the other rooms in that corridor!!!!! Subject: iOS <-> Windows Migrations Speaker: Roman Jaquez Roman will be presenting some of the apps he's successfully migrated to IOS from Windows Phone 8; in order to increase your app's market share, he will discuss a few tips on how to accomplish the level of cross-platform compatilibity that makes your applications feel and look virtually the same across platforms, how to handle resources that will be shared among your IOS app and the same app on other platforms (in our case, Windows Phone 8) such as images, sounds, data, etc. and also how to make them talk to one another seamlessly. For this, he will show a multi-player game he's developed for IOS and Windows Phone 8 using a common infrastructure stored in the cloud, which he's making generic so as to be applied to any type of multi-player games and people can tap into this infrastructure for their games as well. ************************ You can get a map showing building E51 at The MacTechGrp always meets the first Wednesday of the month. John's going to do something about a wierd preprocessor trick and I'm going to do a presentation about hacking the Mach-O file to fool the compiler about the ancestry of a third party library.
